Australian, Cape Town and Locals in Rugby Sevens Festival
Knysna is honoured to welcome 18 teams, from Cape Town, Australian Gold Coast and Knysna that will participate in Sport at Backward Point’s third Winter U13 Rugby Sevens Festival on Friday and Saturday morning, June 27 and 28.
Local teams, Hornlee, Sunridge, Rheenendal, Knysna and Plett Primary Schools will be amongst the 18 participating teams during this year’s festival.
“We are fortunate to have this event supported by the SWD [South Western Districts] Eagles,” said Sport at Backward Point co-owner Keith Cretchley. “They have kindly provided a number of referees and coaching clinics for our developing players prior to and during the event.”
This Winter Rugby Sevens Festival caters for players of all standards and will be played in two divisions, namely A and B.
Gold Coast Australia’s Towoomba Primary School, Capetonians’ Rhenish, Sun Valley Primary Schools, Laerskool Gene Louw and Eversdal will arrive in Knysna on Thursday, June 26 and join the locals for the start of the festival the following day.
